Finance Manager

TorontoOn SiteFull Time

The Role

We're hiring a Finance Manager to be the financial backbone of Viggle's Toronto office

and a trusted partner to leadership.

We're looking for someone who is sharp, analytical, and detail-oriented — someone who

can own day-to-day finance and accounting operations, drive month-end processes,

support budgeting and reporting, and step into administrative and cross-functional

projects when needed. You'll play a central role in how Viggle manages its finances and

will work directly with leadership and external advisors.

If you thrive in fast-moving environments, care deeply about accuracy, and want to be

close to the action at a company building something that matters, this is the role.

Responsibilities

Finance & Accounting Operations

  • Own day-to-day finance operations, including expense management, invoice

processing, vendor payments, payroll coordination, and budget tracking.

  • Manage bookkeeping and accounting processes in QuickBooks Online (QBO),

including multi-currency transactions, and work closely with external accountants

and tax advisors.

  • Lead month-end close activities and maintain accurate, audit-ready financial

records.

  • Support financial reporting, cash flow monitoring, and budget vs. actual analysis

for leadership.

  • Assist with banking relationships, corporate cards, and treasury-related

administration.

  • Continuously identify opportunities to improve internal financial processes and

controls.

Government Funding & Programs

  • Lead the preparation and coordination of SR&ED tax credit claims, including

project documentation, cost tracking, and information gathering, working with

external advisors as needed.

  • Identify, apply for, and manage Canadian government funding programs and

grants (e.g., NRC IRAP, provincial and federal innovation incentives).

Serve as the point of contact for government agencies and program officers;

manage reporting, compliance, and claim submissions for active programs.

  • Support government partnership and collaboration projects, including proposal

preparation, budget development, and post-award administration.

Executive & Cross-Functional Support

  • Prepare financial materials, briefings, and analysis ahead of key meetings and

decisions.

  • Own follow-through on finance-related action items — track what was decided,

what's due, and what's slipping.

  • Handle sensitive financial information and communications with discretion and

sound judgment.

Administrative Support

Provide light administrative and office support as needed to keep the Toronto office

running smoothly, including vendor coordination and record-keeping.

Who You Are

Required Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, Business Administration, or

a related field.

  • 3+ years of experience in finance, accounting, or a related operational finance role

within a fast-paced company.

  • Hands-on experience with QuickBooks Online (QBO) or other cloud-based

accounting systems.

  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple workstreams simultaneously without

dropping the ball.

  • Strong analytical skills — comfortable working with data, metrics, and financial

models.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills — clear, concise, and

professional.

Strong Signals

  • CPA designation (or in progress) is an asset.

  • Previous experience at a startup, technology company, or other high-growth

environment.

  • Hands-on experience with Canadian government funding programs, including

SR&ED claims, NRC IRAP, or other federal/provincial grants; experience working

directly with government agencies or program officers is a strong asset.

  • Experience with multi-entity or cross-border accounting (CAD/USD).

  • Experience building or improving internal financial processes rather than simply

maintaining them.

  • Proficiency with tools such as Excel/Google Sheets, Notion, Slack, and Google

Workspace.

  • Experience working directly with senior executives or founders.

You Are

  • A natural executor — you identify what needs to be done and make it happen.

  • Analytical — you bring structure and data-driven thinking to ambiguous problems.

  • Highly organized without being rigid — you adapt quickly as priorities change.

  • Discreet, trustworthy, and professional when handling confidential information.

  • Low ego, high output — you care about results more than recognition.

Why This Role

  • Be at the center of a fast-growing company building transformative AI technology.

  • Work with high trust, high visibility, and direct access to leadership.

  • Own meaningful responsibilities across finance, reporting, and company-building.

  • Grow into broader Finance, FP&A, or Head of Finance responsibilities over time.
