About Base
Base is America’s next-generation power company. We’re rebuilding the foundation of modern civilization–electricity–by deploying a vast network of distributed batteries that is transforming today’s fragile, centralized grid into a resilient and abundant system. We are engineers, operators, and creatives solving some of the most complex, interdisciplinary challenges of our time.
About the Role
This isn't a traditional lifecycle or content role. It's both, with the balance tipped toward the platform. You'll own our lifecycle marketing engine end-to-end: the workflows, automations, segmentation, and triggers that move homeowners through the funnel, and the copy that runs through them.
Most of your time will go to building and maintaining lifecycle infrastructure in our CRM. The rest goes to writing and shaping the content that fills it: email, SMS, landing pages, onboarding flows, organic and paid creative. You'll combine hands-on platform expertise with conversion-focused copywriting to build a system that educates, nurtures, and converts homeowners at scale.
If you love writing, operations, testing, and building something category-defining from the ground up, this role is for you.
What You'll Do
CRM & Lifecycle Architecture
Own our CRM platform end to end: build and manage workflows, automations, segmentation, lead scoring, and data hygiene
Design, build, and optimize multi-step lifecycle journeys across email, SMS, and in-app touchpoints, tailored to different audience segments
Build reporting and dashboards to track lifecycle KPIs; continuously test and optimize sends, segmentation, and triggers to improve engagement and conversion
Troubleshoot technical issues and maintain data integrity across integrated systems (CRM, ESP, analytics tools)
Copy & Content
Translate complex concepts into simple, consumer-friendly language
Write content across the funnel: email and SMS sequences, landing pages, scripts, onboarding flows, newsletters, and paid and organic creative
Define our voice and implement messaging across key brand touchpoints: web, email, SMS, social, and beyond
Collaborate with design, ops, and sales to keep messaging consistent across the journeys you build
What You'll Bring
3–7+ years in lifecycle marketing, CRM/marketing operations, growth marketing, or content strategy at fast-paced companies
Deep, hands-on experience building and optimizing lifecycle journeys in HubSpot, Braze, Iterable, or similar CRMs — workflows, automations, integrations, and reporting
Comfort in the technical details of CRM configuration, plus strong writing and copywriting ability
Proven ability to create organic content strategies that grow audience and engagement
Strong organizational and project management skills to coordinate across multiple stakeholders
A data-driven approach to measuring and improving performance
About the Team
The Growth team at Base is lean, high-ownership, and results-driven. We operate with clear accountability, tight feedback loops, and a strong bias towards action. Marketing works closely with design, sales, and product to build scalable systems that support the rapid buildout of America's next-generation power company.
Please note: Base is a startup, which means priorities shift and evolve quickly. Your role may expand or change based on the needs of the business at any given time, so the responsibilities listed may not be exhaustive.
