Role Summary
The Senior Field Marketing Manager will drive pipeline and revenue growth through strategic field marketing execution, owning the entire field marketing portfolio, budget, and team. You'll develop and execute field marketing strategy across 150-200 events annually, lead the OpenGov Conference and user groups, manage a team of field marketers, and own the pipeline number and ROI for all field initiatives.
You'll be a strategic field marketing leader who combines ABM expertise with event portfolio management, team leadership, and P&L accountability. You'll decide which events to attend, build the business case for each, optimize ROI across the portfolio, and lead your team to execute field marketing at scale using AI and marketing automation.
What You'll Do
Field Marketing Strategy & Portfolio Management
Develop and execute annual field marketing strategy aligned with company revenue targets and market priorities.
Curate the event portfolio: evaluate and select from 150-200+ potential events annually. Build business cases for events based on target account density, market opportunity, and expected ROI.
Manage the field marketing budget—allocate resources across events, staffing, collateral, technology, and team. Track spend and optimize for positive ROI across the portfolio.
Own the total field pipeline number and ROI metrics. Set targets for each event and the portfolio; track performance and optimize based on data.
OpenGov Conference & User Groups
Own the OpenGov Conference strategy, planning, and execution—including registration, ticketing, content, sponsorships, attendee engagement, post-event follow-up.
Develop and manage the user groups and roundtable program strategy. Determine frequency, topics, locations, and engagement tactics.
Ensure these signature events drive pipeline, customer advocacy, and market presence.
Team Leadership & Development
Lead and manage a team of field marketers. Set expectations, provide coaching and feedback, develop skills, and ensure accountability for outcomes.
Delegate event ownership to your team; provide strategic guidance while they execute.
Work with Operations and Finance to manage budget, hiring, and team tools.
ABM & Demand Generation Integration
Ensure each event is grounded in ABM strategy: identify target accounts by product and region, develop pre-event engagement tactics, and build comprehensive post-event follow-up campaigns.
Build relationships with Growth Marketing, Product, Sales and Sales Development to align on field strategy and execution.
Leverage AI and marketing automation (Claude, MCPs, marketing platforms) to scale pre-event targeting, post-event sequences, and demand generation.
Performance, Optimization & Reporting
Conduct post-event analysis for each event: track ROI, pipeline contribution, attendance quality, follow-up conversion, and SDR handoff metrics.
Identify optimization opportunities and best practices; apply learnings to future events.
Present field marketing performance and strategic recommendations to leadership quarterly. Influence GTM strategy based on market insights and event learnings.
Cross-Functional Leadership
Collaborate with Sales, Product Marketing, Growth Marketing, Product, and Finance on field strategy, account targeting, and event execution.
Represent field marketing at leadership meetings; shape overall GTM strategy with insights from the field.
Partner with external vendors (event organizers, catering, logistics) and negotiate contracts that protect ROI.
