Role overview
You'll be a dedicated recruiting partner for Harvey's Infrastructure and Platform organization, covering Core Infrastructure, Model Infrastructure, Database Infrastructure, Backend Platform. This is a full-cycle role where you'll own the process from market mapping and sourcing through closing, working with engineering leaders to hire engineers and managers from Mid-level to Staff.
What you'll do
Partner with Infra and Platform leaders to turn roadmap priorities into a clear hiring plan: which roles, which profiles, in what order
Build and maintain pipelines across infra specialties: distributed systems, cloud (AWS/Azure), Kubernetes, databases/Postgres, SRE and reliability, ML/model serving, and security
Map talent at the companies that have solved infra at scale (hyperscalers, AI labs, and high-growth infra and data companies) and run targeted outreach to passive senior and Staff+ engineers
Advise hiring managers on the infra talent market, including comp, competing offers, level calibration, and what these candidates look for in their next role
Run a high-signal, candidate-first process for technical loops (system design, deep dives, on-call and reliability scenarios), and keep interviewers calibrated and moving quickly
Close competitive candidates by telling a clear story about Harvey's infra problems, their scope, and why they matter
Keep Ashby clean and use pipeline data (conversion, time in stage, source quality) to change course when something isn't working
Improve how we hire infra talent: interview plans, sourcing playbooks, referral programs, and events
What you have
3–5 years of full-cycle technical recruiting, including meaningful time hiring infrastructure, platform, SRE, or platform engineers
Experience in a high-growth startup or scale-up where speed and quality both mattered
A track record of hiring senior and Staff-level engineers, including passive candidates you sourced yourself
Enough technical fluency to have credible conversations about infra work: you can tell a platform engineer from an SRE, and a database specialist from a distributed systems generalist, and you can pitch each one's problems at Harvey
Strong relationships with hiring managers, who treat you as a partner rather than an order-taker
Comfort with data. You use metrics to diagnose problems and influence decisions
You follow the infra and AI talent market: which companies are growing, which are shrinking, and where top engineers want to go next
Low ego and high ownership. You'll roll up your sleeves to get the team built
Nice to have: experience recruiting for AI/ML infrastructure or model serving teams, security or compliance-heavy environments, or distributed engineering teams across multiple locations.
Compensation Range
130,000- 150,000 USD
